Hypotension – Low Blood Pressure

Hypotension:  Hypotension, also know as low blood pressure, is a condition when the blood pressure range is less than 90/60. This condition indicates that the pressure of blood which is circulating around the body is lower than normal. The optimal blood pressure range is 120/90 or less whereas anything above is an indication of hypertension. The blood pressure reading has two numbers:
Systolic: The first and higher of the two (which is 90 as shown above) indicates measure of systolic pressure which is the pressure in the arteries when the heart beats and fills blood into them.
Diastolic: The second number (which is 60 as shown above) indicates the diastolic pressure which is the pressure in the arteries when the heart rests between the beats.
Although low blood pressure may not indicate major health concern among healthy people, it may cause inadequate flow of the blood to brain, heart and vital organs which is definitely not a good indication to good health. For instance, due to sudden drop in blood pressure may cause to inadequate supply of blood to the brain which in turn dizziness or light-headedness
.
