Greeva Vasti: The Greeva Vasti treatment is for neck care due to cervical spondylosisis and other related neck problems. It is noted that the people older than 40 years suffer spondylotic changes very frequently causing this health problem very common among the age group or above. Greeva Vasti treatment process includes medicated oils poured over the neck or nape area using wet flour of black gram. It comes under Panchakarma treatment and operates through Sweda (sweating). After this procedure, a light massage (Abhyanga) is performed. This therapy alleviates neck and upper back conditions like cervical spondylitis, stiffness, pain due to strain etc. Few of the prescribed oils used in Greeva Vasti and in the Abhyanga massage are Ksheerabala tailam, Mahanarayana tailam, Mahamasha tailam, Til tailam.

In this therapy, the patient lies facedown on the table and the affected area is upwards where herbal boundary paste is put to keep medicated oil into that. The medicated oil is slowly poured into the boundary paste and the procedure is repeated as per the requirement for a specific time.

The treatment duration is 35-45 minutes each day for 2-3 weeks, that again varies person to person and the severity of the pain.
